Running when you don’t want to.

Miles Today; 3

Miles This Week; 3

——————-

Man, today was one of those days. I forgot my phone and lunch at home, was exhausted from getting to sleep at midnight (and still having a benadryl hangover) and just plain not in the mood for work. I even took a nap on my lunch hour!

However, I did need to run today….but I didn’t want too. Still, I have my forceful ways.

First, I always wear a workout tank and ny sports bra under my work clothes.

Second, traffic. Yep. Traffic was the end all be all for this run. The off ramp I take home was backed up to no end from an accident. So, instead of sitting in that traffic for a half hour, I drove to the gym.

I look excited, but I’m not.

And you know what’s weird? I had an amazing run! All the factors were against me….I was exhausted, dehydrated and hadn’t eaten since noon. Yeah….but regardless, I’m glad I went out and got those three miles over with.

My shin is still bugging me, but its not anything ice won’t fix for now. It doesn’t begin to hurt until around the end of my runs anyways so I’m thinking its just general soreness.

So there you have it. If you’re ever teetering between running or not? Go for it. It may just be the best run you’ve had in a while.

Yep.

When was the last time you “made” yourself go for a run?
