RUNch Take Three (Treadmill Edition!)

Miles Today; 4

Miles This Week; 7

——————————————-

I have a confession. I meant to go on an early morning run today. My brain had bigger ideas. My alarm went off at 5:15 and I promptly switched it to 6am. I hope that 45 minutes of sleep was worth it. (It was).

My gear was judging me in the FACE.

So, I didn’t really want to go to the gym after work … I decided to embark on another runch. That’s right, my THIRD RUNch. I really, REALLY wanted to run outside, but as the weather has shown so nicely, it’s TOO hot. By 11 am it was 85 degrees and at 12 when I left it was 92. Nope, not again. So I drove to my gym to get a run in.

I just can’t take right-side up pictures, can I?

The first mile was downright TERRIBLE. I was going for tempo today, and set the treadmill at 10 minute miles. I had severe cramp-age on my right side and had to take quite a few walking breaks. After that though it was smooth sailing. I finished in about 43 minutes but I’m not 100% on the time since I split it up into two 2 mile treadmill spurts.

Do I HAVE to go back to work? Boo.

I drove back to work and the rest of the day flew by. I do have to admit that’s one of my favorite parts of running on my lunch. I feel like I’ve just got so much energy to get shit done 🙂

When I went back to work I grabbed a powerade from the vending machines. I put 2 dollars in the machine, and it gave me a dollar back. For the record, it costs 2 dollars. I win.

When I got home at 4 I had THESE babies waiting for me. I love when fate intervenes sometimes.

My Aspaeris Pivot Shorts! Yeah, they look super tiny. Trust me, they’ll stretch and fit you. It actually took a lot of finaggling to get onto my legs, but they are on and they feel great! One thing I can tell you for certain is the top does NOT pinch or bind! I didn’t believe anyone on that cause my UA shorts bind like no tomorrow, but I seriously can’t even feel the binding! I’ll let you know how I feel about these after I’ve tried them for a few runs.

One complaint I do have is that the crotch is kind of …sitting a lot lower than I’d like? I want to pull it up so it’s a lot more snug but I can’t. I feel like it would rub alot when I run in these, but we’ll see!

So I jumped into those and my compression socks and watched some Say Yes to the Dress (some research, I guess you could say ^_^) while I iced my knee which was bugging me a little.

So that’s been my day. This week might be my first double-digit mile week! I have my long run of 6 miles Saturday, so here’s hoping I live! I’m almost 1/3rd down with the half marathon training! 🙂

And the next time I decided to forego a morning run, I will remember the judgemental Jordan. “YOU could have ran this morning and been done with it but NOOOO!!!”

– Til next run!
