Back on the horse …sort of.

Miles Today; 2.5/24:37

Miles This Week; 2.5

————————————-

Back in saddle, kind of. I unexpectedly took a week off from running last week with all the vacationing and lazy-ing. I was supposed to go on my long 6 mile run yesterday, but my legs were not feeling it and neither was my brain. Plus, Brian and I had a busy day planned so I would have had to get up at 6am to run …and that was not happening.

On Saturday, to recap we;

1. SIGNED OUR LEASE! It was kind of sickening to pay the deposit, and sign all these papers, but we’ve officially got a place! We’re moving in the weekend of September 15th πŸ™‚ I am super excited. Though, Brian is sad they prohibit real Christmas tress. Oh well.

2. We went to IKEA and I bought my new desk!

It’s the MICKE Computer Work station. I am so happy with it! I love the way it looks, and you can get add on storage if you need like this;

I love home organization so I am taking full force of the decorating of our apartment. Brian reminded me that we should wait until we move in and see how much space we have, and then we can make another trip for more stuff πŸ™‚

3. Brian, whom I am so proud, has graduated to “big boy” shaving stuff. We went to The Art of Shaving and he bought a whole shaving kit! I got him the mini kit for his birthday and he ended up LOVING it. This is a huge step, because he rarely cares a lot about his appearance or spending money on himself. I was totally supportive as he plonked down 140 bucks for SHAVING STUFF. Lol, I can’t even complain because of the amount of money I spend on my Clinique and Clarisonic.

And that was it for our busy Saturday πŸ™‚

Today I decided I really needed to get to the gym. It was actually very hard for me …I kept going back and forth between just not doing it, but finally gave myself the excuse “Well, I DO need to break in my new shoes.”

I decided on my Cumulus 13’s. My foot sits a bit higher out of the shoe due to my insoles, but I did end up getting used to it. The hell backing is alot softer and plushy than my Gel Equations which I enjoyed. My FAVORITE thing about these shoes is the toe box. I can move my toes up and down without any pulling and it feels like they are so free to move. Also helped I got the correct sizing this time (I work 9.5’s, moved up to 10’s).

I wasn’t really sure how far I was going to go, so I set a goal of 3 miles. I felt great the entire run, not too tired and not too sore. My knees felt great as well and I attribute that to the newer shoes. When I stopped for a quick drink at 2.5 miles I got a complete cold sweat, like, felt like I was going to throw up cold sweat. So, instead of powering though like I normally do, I set the treadmill down to a walking pace and called it a day. SEE, I LISTENED TO MYSELF TODAY! This is a huge step. I could have felt awful about only doing 2.5 miles instead of 3, but I feel great because I allowed myself to stop before getting really sick. I attribute that feeling to not hyrdating as well this weekend and I didn’t really eat anything before getting to the gym. I hopped off the ‘mill and into my sandals and was off to target.

I needed one more thing for the apartment before I forgot about it, a microwave rack!

Took me about 20 minutes to find the damn thing, but I did! Excitement πŸ™‚

And I’m off to shower and get ready for dinner out tonight at Spaghetti Warehouse! Woo woo!
