Happy  Memorial Day Weekend! I don’t have any picnics or parties to attend so I decided it was a perfect time to head to the gym. Was I ever correct.

Absolutely no one at my gym. It was so nice. I blasted Auction Hunters and American Pickers as I worked away on the elliptical. I even tried out some machines I’m too self concious to use when others are there. All in all, it was a nice and easy cross training day which was much needed.

After I was done I sat down and ate a FullBar. These things are supposed to make you feel “full” so you don’t over eat during meals. I use them to eat after I workout so I’m not going insane with hunger. They seem to work pretty well. I worked out at 1pm and got home at 3:30 and wasn’t starving. They recommend you drink 16oz of water with it as well so I’m sure you can get the same effects with a protein bar and some water, but these were 4 bucks for a box of 6 at Big Lots so I allowed myself to try em out. They taste like rice cakes, which is pretty good.

Going all Captain Morgan for you guys.

Next I decided to hit up Marshall’s and Dick’s. I was looking for a pair of the Nike capris I love so much for cheap but wasn’t able to find anything cheaper than 40 bucks. I have two pairs so I just can’t justify buying a pair of these things unless they are 35>. Depressing. They also had all the new Nike for Steelers gear out. I really, REALLY want the Steelers capris and tempos. But, 65 bucks and 32 bucks is just …no. Not for something I’m sweating in.

I did walk away with a pair of compression shorts from Under Armour though. I had been looking into compression shorts for a while, and while I have my heart set on a pair of Aspaeris shorts (they are 60 dollars, and while I’m sure they are worth it, I am hanging for a 50% sale), I decided to give these ones a try.

They fit pretty well. I BELIEVE http://www.underarmour.com/shop/us/en/womens-ultra-7-team-compression-short/pid1001226-001 are the style. I actually had to size down in these because they weren’t as tight as I wanted them to be. I normally wear a medium, but I ended up getting the smalls. Debated the XS, but they were a bit TOO snug and I figured these might shrink a little bit. Considering I am only planning on wearing these for recovery on my longer runs coming up, I think it’s a good purchase. I love the length too, I wanted something that hit all of my thighs and this worked out perfectly. I also walked away with a Clif shot gel in Mocha. I’ve been intrigued by the ones with caffiene and I want to see if it does any more for me 🙂

And that was my relaxing day. I’ve got a 3.5 mile scheduled for tomorrow so I’m going to take the rest of the night easy.

Obviously, he’s got the right idea.

~Til next run!
