Rest, Rita’s and Shortie Run

So the past two days have been a bit of R+R. I was going to rest today actually, but I was itching to get out so I let myself go on a quick mile.
Yesterday was Brian’s birthday.
Yeah, I spoiled him. A few Under Armour shirts, a Pitt Penguins shirt, two video games, Robin Hood; Men In Tights of Blu Ray and a shaving kit from The Art of Shaving.
I forced him to go to Buffalo Wild Wings. He’d never been, and I LIVED here when I worked for the Cadets. It was wing night too! I got 5 carribean jerk ad 5 mango habenero. I almost died with the mango flavor, I forgot how HOT it was!
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm…..needed it after this week 🙂
I also went to target and picked up two sports bras as well as some ice backs to ice down my legs after runs. I know I’m not running lots of miles, but I’d rather be over cautious 🙂 Especially since I am pretty injury prone.
Then today I went for a quick run through the neighborhood.
Just my quick mile route I always used to take. Finally got to wear my new grey UA shirt (that I got for 5 BUCKS thanks to a race coupon/clearance). It was a faster-ish run, I wanted to get it over with to be honest. My throat is kind of bugging me so I can tell I was pushing myself a lil too much (damn these allergies).
Saturday is my longer run in the 10K training. 3 miles! Depending on how I feel I may extend it to 3.5. I toyed with starting the training on week 2, but instead decided that I’d start with week one (LIKE YOU SHOULD!) and just play my Saturday run by ear, and if I’m feeling good to do a bit more.
